This course teaches the basics of scientific work as preparation for students who wish to write a seminar paper, Bachelor's or Master's thesis. In order to support them in this, helpful techniques for finding a topic, literature research and analysis are taught in this course. In addition, formalities for writing an academic paper at the professorship are discussed and structuring and citation techniques are explained. The Guidelines for academic work provides an overview.

Participation requirements

For students of business and economics or information systems who are taking the Bachelor’s Seminar (Module 11), attendance at this course is mandatory. Participation is recommended for students in teacher education, business mathematics, and industrial engineering who are taking the Bachelor’s Seminar, as well as for anyone wishing to write a Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis at the chair.
Students who wish to take the workshops on a voluntary basis may register by emailing Mr. Felix Stundzig up to one week before the session.
