This course teaches the basics of scientific work as preparation for students who wish to write a seminar paper, Bachelor's or Master's thesis. In order to support them in this, helpful techniques for finding a topic, literature research and analysis are taught in this course. In addition, formalities for writing an academic paper at the professorship are discussed and structuring and citation techniques are explained. The Guidelines for academic work provides an overview.

Participation requirements

For students who have completed the Bachelor's seminar (Module 11) or would like to write a Bachelor's/Master's thesis at the chair, participation in this course is compulsory.
