Strategies in generative AI platform ecosystems

This research project examines firms that participate in Generative AI platform ecosystems to build solutions for customers. For these firms, generative AI models are an important lever for the novel value creation. Some companies build customer solutions with generative AI APIs or by running a model in Microsoft Azure or Amazon Bedrock. Others offer a “GPT” on ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot.

Participating in a generative AI ecosystem requires unique strategies. We are studying the distinct strategies and growth trajectories of firms that successfully participate in generative AI platform ecosystems.

The project manager is Prof. Dr. Manuel Wiesche

The contact person for questions or cooperation offers is Vincent Heimburg
